Pressure clasp adjustment
Pressure clasp adjustment
One of the common complaints with pressure clasps is that they are either too hard to open or they open too easily. I get this question weekly. Thankfully, the solution is simple, and my pressure clasps can be dialed in to your exact preference. However, please keep in mind that this guide will only work with the pressure clasp, and will not work with a milled or double button milled clasp.
You will want a pair of needle-nose pliers, leatherman or some other tool to bend the tab. Follow the guides below to adjust yours.
Pressure clasp open too easily?
- If the pressure clasp opens too easily, you can make a minor adjustment (see picture). You can bend that little tab towards the direction of the hinge (just a little) so that it snaps closed more firmly. Move it just a little and test it. If it didn't work, try it again a little more. I use a pair of needle nose pliers and it works every time. Let me know if you have any questions.
